Project-Based Teaching Contest

The TaLK program in Seoul hosted this Project-Based Teaching Contest for all TaLK teachers to participate in. The first step was to send in our proposals for our projects then the Seoul Office would choose 12 schools to take part in the contest. My project was one of the projects that got chosen.

I carried out the project for 8 weeks, teaching the students and making videos. My project was based on the five questions "Who, what, where, when, why" and how to identify these in news articles. The students would then produce their own news article and then finally a news report video. My co-teacher put in a lot of work with lesson plannings and writing reports/journals. At the end of the 8 weeks, we put everything together for submission. We waited for about a week and received news that we had won bronze for the project!

This was big news because we were representing our province (GyeongSangBukDo) and our school. My principal was very happy and so was my Mentor Teacher! I felt so proud of my students because the work really did reflect their intelligence and effort! I am so grateful and thankful for everyone... and oh yea.. we won some money too!
